Our Top 3 Foods Of Love

To celebrate Valentine’s Day 2017, we wanted to share with you what we think are the top three aphrodisiacs to include in your Valentine’s meal tonight!

Named after Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty, it appears that the majority of our common aphrodisiacs and associations of love stem from this time! Aphrodite herself was imagined emerging from a clamshell, and still today seafood is recognised as aphrodisiacs.

To start:
Oysters – High in zinc, the intimate way of eating oysters is sure to get you in the mood. Simply sauté in garlic, lemon juice, chilli, salt, pepper and parsley, and let the slurping commence!

For main:
Asparagus - A great source of Vitamin E, asparagus is the perfect accompaniment to any dish. Serve on the side of a protein-rich steak for an extra boost to your hormone levels, which will most definitely get you and your partner’s hearts racing!

And for dessert:
Chocolate! Containing anandamide and phenylethylamine, which boost serotonin levels, chocolate is in itself a sensuous food. Why not try strawberries dipped into your partners favourite melted chocolate, or go the extra mile and put your skills to the test in making a chocolate fondant?
