Festive Spicy Mixed Nut Nibbles
700g mixed nuts
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
6 tbsp brown sugar
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tsp fine salt
1 tbsp water
1. Heat the nuts in a dry nonstick pan, stirring constantly to toast slightly.
2. Once lightly toasted, add the butter to the nuts and stir, allowing them to toast further until they are a light golden brown in colour.
3. Next, add the sugar, salt, spices and water and cook until the nuts are completely glazed in the spices. Stir constantly for around 4 minutes.
4. Lay a sheet of grease proof paper on a baking tray and pour the nuts onto the tray. Separate them with a fork incase any are stuck together. Once cooled completely, store in an airtight container, or serve straight away!
